kelley's island, ohio

I went on a lovely vacation this week. It was at a very cool place called Kelley's Island, and even though it's a small piece of land, I discovered near the end of our vacation that there was quite a bit to do there.
Overall, the trip was wonderful. I read and read and read (slowly), and finished the second book of Donita K. Paul's DragonKeeper Chronicles. I also started The Maid of Fairbourne Hall by Julie Klassen. I'm not very far through it, but it's getting better as I keep reading.
I also did some bike riding, which was fun (and slightly terrifying). I hadn't done it in ages.
Anyway, the whole thing was very relaxing, and it reminded me that I need to slow down more. There's no need to rush, especially on vacation. Those are supposed to be slow, so you can get caught up in life. And I think I did (a bit).

p.s. i'll be doing a bigger vacation post later, but i don't have the pictures edited yet, and i wanted to say hi. so...hi. :)

  1. Hi! Ooo, vacation! I haven't been on a vacation in awhile, but they can be so much fun. :-D

I think both "DragonQuest" and "The Maid of Fairbourne Hall" were both good reads. It took me awhile to get though the first book in the Dragon Keeper Chronicles, but I finished "DragonQuest" within a week's time.

If you haven't read it, and get a chance, try Julie Klassen's "The Apothecary's Daughter." It's one of my favorites.

    1. My older sister has all of Julie Klassen's romance novels (I think), and I'm planning on getting to them eventually. But the rest of the Dragon Keeper Chronicles are first on the list after "The Maid of Fairbourne Hall." :)
