I went on a lovely vacation this week. It was at a very cool place called Kelley's Island, and even though it's a small piece of land, I discovered near the end of our vacation that there was quite a bit to do there.
Overall, the trip was wonderful. I read and read and read (slowly), and finished the second book of Donita K. Paul's DragonKeeper Chronicles. I also started The Maid of Fairbourne Hall by Julie Klassen. I'm not very far through it, but it's getting better as I keep reading.
I also did some bike riding, which was fun (and slightly terrifying). I hadn't done it in ages.
Anyway, the whole thing was very relaxing, and it reminded me that I need to slow down more. There's no need to rush, especially on vacation. Those are supposed to be slow, so you can get caught up in life. And I think I did (a bit).

1. If
the main villain of your favorite book/movie/TV series showed up on your front
doorstep, what would you do? (Explain who it is first...)
Hmm. I
guess I'll go with President Snow from The Hunger Games. I'd invite him in,
probably. Offer him some tea or something, maybe. In my head, I'd be thinking
of ways to get out of the situation. President Snow isn't one of my favorite
characters (neither is Katniss, but whatever :p).
2. Now supposing the heroes opposite this villain showed up just after your exchange. What would you do then?
Probably start fangirling. Well, in my head anyway. I'd probably tell them something like, "GET PRESIDENT SNOW OUT OF MY LIVING ROOM, NOW!" Although I hope I wouldn't be quite so mean...
3. So...moving on, the heroes defeat the villain (with some help from you, of course-whatever it may be. ;) But the next day, you're just walking along, minding your own business, when you suddenly come across the same villain...who is now lying in the dust severely wounded and unconscious. What do you do?
While my first instinct would be to leave him there to die because he's such an awful character, I probably wouldn't. I'd probably try to help him and maybe call an ambulance. I'm not very good at medical-ish things, and there's no way I could get him to the hospital on my own.
4. Now his minions show up and kidnap both you and him and take you to their universe (or version of your universe, whatever it happens to be.) Your reaction?
Hmm. I'd probably be a bit annoyed, because I just helped save President Snow's life. I'd probably wonder if they're going to put me in the Hunger Games. I'd be a bit scared. I mean, the Capitol is a bit weird. Okay, okay. Really weird.
5. Your fantastic heroes have arrived to rescue you-but now you're faced with a choice. The villain, out of gratitude for your earlier help, (assuming you actually did help him when he was wounded) has offered you a chance to travel back to your own universe. However, the heroes warn you not to trust him. The only other way for you to get back home is to travel with the heroes on a long and dangerous journey... and there's no guarantee that you'll survive.
What. Do. You. Do.
Because I’m not a particular fan of Katniss, I’d just call up the Doctor and have him take me home. (Of course, if that’s not an option, I’ll just go with Katniss, Peeta, and the crew.)

the beauty of color
I love color. It adds so much more happiness and lightness to the world. And that's all I have to say, because if I keep going, this will get really cheesy.
